The AT-CRIS implementation model is based on the many years of consulting and implementation experience of AT-CRIS employees. We have developed our services in line with this implementation model: standardised services, end-to-end consulting, implementations and specific solutions.
We are currently focussing on the areas of research information systems,
campus management and doctoral administration.
We have excellent expertise in these areas, which we are very happy to pass on.

Our software implementation methodology can also be transferred to other areas.
We would be happy to expand our services for you!

Our aim is to provide holistic support – from consulting to operationalisation.

Software products are only ever part of the solution.

We are 100% independent of software manufacturers and
capital providers and therefore focus on the customised solution for our customers.

“Software never rusts.”
True, but the world keeps on turning and new possibilities are constantly opening up,
especially in the IT sector. What was up to date yesterday and met the latest security standards will be outdated tomorrow and may have security gaps.
“Software needs constant maintenance” and a complete overhaul from time to time.

Most of our customers do not have to deal with the issue of software maintenance, as the product manufacturers take care of this for them. However, there are also customers who require highly specialised individual software that is not available off the shelf.
In these cases, we support our customers in planning and preparing the software renewal:

  • (Detailed) planning of agile software renewal.
    • What exactly needs to be done?
    • Defining the scope.
    • What should the software architecture look like?
    • What resources are required?
  • Are organisational changes necessary?
  • Optimisation and digitalisation of processes
  • From “old” to “new” à migration planning

We also advise software manufacturers on the implementation of new modules and
solutions based on our knowledge of our customers’ needs.

We work with you to develop a customised technical solution for your LOM and
implement it together with you.

Whether it’s the distribution of funds from the entire university to its departments/faculties, within the faculties or the justification of performance bonuses in the W salary scale, performance parameters are often used as the basis for calculating the LOM, e.g. supervised doctorates, completed courses, acquisition of third-party funds, publications and many other parameters. Which parameters are included in the calculation of the LOM, how the respective parameters are weighted and what conclusions are drawn from the calculated LOM data varies greatly from university to university. The discussion as to whether “performance measurement” in research and teaching makes sense at all is answered differently within the universities and from university to university. Whether the LOM is ultimately determined by formula or by peer assessment, a wide range of different data from several IT systems must always be collected and/or manually recorded and processed as a prerequisite.

AT-CRIS supports you in the automation and digitalisation of your existing LOM processes.
We specify the data model required to implement your LOM. For efficient data collection, a LOM software/module should utilise the data available in existing IT systems.
Together with your experts, we specify the interfaces required for system integration and support you with their implementation, if desired.

Every university interacts closely with its region and the people who live there. Universities are active as teaching and research institutions, employers, service providers and co-operation partners, but also in the context of knowledge and technology transfer. Despite their regional integration and networking, universities are often unable to answer the question “What activities are there at my institution that fall under the subject area of transfer / third mission / mission society?”.

However, knowledge of one’s own transfer activities is the basis for actively managing the mission society and gaining competitive advantages. With this conviction, AT-CRIS has developed a holistic approach that allows universities to actively pursue the mission society with IT support and thus not only find answers to open questions, but also actively create added value for themselves and society.

Start with the AT-CRIS service “Fact Sheet Web Footprint” to get started with the exciting topic of transfer / third mission. We use it to analyse your institution from the outside and highlight possible fields of action.

An up-to-date and correctly maintained organisation management system is a prerequisite for integrated information management. The master data of organisational management in universities is often in a poor state of maintenance and does not meet the requirements of modern digital processes.

An inventory of the organisational management and the mapping of the organisational structure in the IT systems in comparison with the objectives pursued with the OM provides the OM topics to be dealt with in an institution. The individual culture of an organisation must be taken into account and determines the boundary conditions of an OM project. Boundary conditions that should be consciously designed for an OM project are

  • Involvement of stakeholders in the design of the OM concept
  • Involvement/role of the Executive Board/Rectorate in the OM project
  • Definition, optimisation and digitalisation of OM maintenance processes
  • Organising the transition from old to new (migration plan)
  • Identification/definition of follow-up projects

An OM project affects the entire organisation. It is not a pure software implementation project, but is generally always associated with organisational development (the extent depends on the current status and the objectives being pursued). OM projects are complex and require staying power. But don’t be put off, the goal is worth the effort. We look forward to supporting you with our experience.
